Last Easter was spent in DC; we attended the final Obama WH Easter Egg Roll. It was an amazing trip!
So this marks our first Chicago Easter. What to do? What to do?
Well, we’re having dinner with my aunt and cousin later today. We went to breakfast at our spot — the Original Pancake House in Hyde Park.
As we were walking back to the car after a yummy breakfast, a homeless woman asked if I had any change. I didn’t, as I gave my cash to the waitress for her tip.
After the woman walked away, Nate said “I have $2 in the car.” I reminded him that’s his Mikkey’s video game money, but he’s welcome to give it to her if he’d like.
When we caught up to her at the end of the sidewalk, he walked up to her and told her he wanted to give her his $2. So the three of us walked to my car, I unlocked the doors, he opened the back door, went into his hiding spot, retrieved his money, and handed it to her.
I know I complain about the silly things my child does. But I couldn’t be more proud of him right now. He’s such a sweet, giving soul.
I’m a proud mama right now.
Happy Easter!
